The closest thing we had to “sex ed” was a warning that if you had sex before marriage you’d get all sorts of horrible diseases and probably get the woman pregnant. there was no mention at all of birth control options. The entire ‘course’ lasted less than half an hour during a 6th grade “social science” class where they seperated the male students into a different classroom from the female students and what i assume was the ‘acceptable’ version of sex ed to the southern baptists that controlled every aspect of state government at the time.
